You run service calls out of a stocked van, most days six to nine stops. The work is drains, leaks, water heaters, fixtures, and the occasional emergency that reorders your whole afternoon. That makes an Atlanta plumbing apprenticeship worth more than the same title in a state that licenses only contractors. The work splits between steady service across the older intown neighbourhoods and new construction chasing the metro's sprawl outward. Atlanta is geographically enormous and traffic is the tax on everything, so a shop's service area matters more here than in a compact metro; a job in Lawrenceville is a different life from a job in Decatur even at the same wage. Marietta, Decatur, Sandy Springs and Lawrenceville all carry their own shops rather than feeding a single downtown core.
