FAQ
No hype, no fine print. If your question isn't here, email john@hyprstart.com and a person will answer it.
Yes. Employers pay us a placement fee when they hire you. You never pay anything, no fees, no tuition, and we never take a cut of your paycheck.
No. We match everyone from apprentices and helpers to lead techs. Tell us where you're at and we route you accordingly. Plenty of the shops we work with hire people with zero experience and train them on the job.
HVAC, electrical and plumbing, in Phoenix, the Bay Area and Houston. Pick your trade and metro for local pay and licensing:
Not in one of those metros yet? Apply anyway. We're adding markets as shops sign on, and we'll tell you honestly where you stand.
The form takes about two minutes. Most candidates hear from an employer within 1–2 business days of being matched.
We're not a school, not a staffing agency and not a job board. You tell us the work you do and the tools you run; we find the local shops hiring for exactly that and make the introduction. You skip the cold calls, the drop-ins and the application black hole.
When you get hired, you're an employee of that shop, not of HyprStart. We're out of the way at that point.
Only the employers we're introducing you to. No mass job-board blasts, no selling your details, no spam. See our Privacy Policy for specifics.
Always. We ask before we introduce you to anyone. If a shop isn't your lane, say so and we'll keep looking. We'd rather find the right fit than fill a headcount.
We'll tell you straight rather than string you along. If nothing local matches what you do, you stay on our list and we come back when something does.
Usually less than people think. Most states license contractors, the business, not the technicians working for them, so you can often start as an employee without holding one yourself. It does vary by trade and state, so check your metro page above for the specifics that apply to you.
It helps, but it isn't required to get hired. Many shops hire you and certify you. It's federally required to work with refrigerants, it's a standalone exam with no course needed, and most people study a week or two and pass. Expect roughly $0–150 depending on where you sit it.
A 10-hour safety course, usually two days or done online. Some employers want it before you start. It's a cheap, quick win if you don't have it yet.
It depends entirely on the state, and every metro we cover has a path that lets you start now:
Ranges across the markets we cover today. They span union and non-union shops and they're ranges, not guarantees. Your metro page has the local bands broken out by experience level.
Yes. This is direct hire. You're on payroll from day one, including as an apprentice or helper, and you move up as you log hours and prove out. There's no tuition and no unpaid training period.
Often, yes. Many of the shops we work with hire people moving into the area, and some help with the move. Tell us where you're coming from when you apply.
Go to Check status and enter the phone number or email you applied with. We send you a code and you land straight in your dashboard, no password. Didn't opt into texts? Use the email option instead.
Only if you opt in, and only about your application status and your login codes, generally up to about 15 messages a month. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP any time to opt out, or HELP for help. Consent isn't required to apply. Details in our SMS terms.
Email john@hyprstart.com, or just start. It takes two minutes.
